Joy

I always write about how happy my Maxie was but truly, it is this baby's capacity to feel SO much joy that brings me to me knees. What an incredible waste that his life was taken from him! He had so much love for life and such an all consuming smile – it was infectious. I have many, many photos of Maxie's beautiful smile (not nearly enough though) but it is these photos of his complete and overwhelming joy that stab at me like a knife. He was a complete joy of a baby and a human being. He brought so much joy into my life. I loved every minute of being his mommy. My heart will never be the same.

Hi - i've been following your blog for a few months now and am just in awe of your love for your son. it inspires me to be a better mother. I always love seeing the pictures of Maxie and the one in the middle (where he's in all the pillows) is my all time favorite. You can tell from his pictures what a happy little guy he was. God Bless.

You know Maxie's joy and happiness is a proof of the best parents he could ever had. Only babies that are love and cherish with so much happiness are full of joy as he was. I'm sorry Abby, my heart hurts looking at him and thinking he is not with you. I can't look at Jayden's pictures without bursting in tears and feeling the sharp pain. Baby M will be here soon and bring so much joy.

Just looking at Maxie's smile brings one to my face. What a light he brought to this world...and that light continues to shine...it just brightened my day today! Thank you baby Maxie for living and loving life so fully! Thanks to his mama for reminding us to embrace the joy that exists in the simple things of our lives...for reminding us that our greatest blessings surround us each day.
